Teen Angst

Together with you, we explore the wishes and challenges of Ukrainian young people in Ukraine and abroad. What is it like to grow up in such a crazy, unstable world? What inspires you and what annoys you?

In the "Teen Angst" project, ten young Ukrainians tell their stories: Accompanied by experienced director Inga Pylypchuk, they are making their very own documentary film. For two months, they work together artistically, immerse themselves in the craft of filmmaking, make new contacts, and travel to the world premiere of the film in Berlin as co-authors in June!

Inga Pylypchuk, born in Kyiv, Ukraine, lives and works as a documentary filmmaker and journalist in Berlin. She studied German and Modern Greek in Kyiv and Comparative Literature, Journalism and Documentary Film in Berlin. As a teenager, she obsessively wrote diaries, which allowed her to remember herself quite well in the ages between 16 and 20. Thanks to this passion, she also ended up writing articles for German media, often about her personal perspectives.

She also makes films about herself and the world she lives in, like her recent work “How Far Is Close”, which tells the story of her relationship with her mom, who had to move from Kyiv to Berlin due to Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Inga has experience in leading workshops for young people on autobiographical writing and filmmaking, including projects of the Goethe Institute and the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin.

Разом з тобою ми хочемо дослідити складні емоції, прагнення та виклики, з якими стикаються українські підлітки як в Україні, так і за кордоном. Як це — дорослішати у такому крейзі нестабільному світі? Що тебе надихає, а що дратує? 

З проєктом Teen Angst ти зможеш розповісти свою історію мовою кіно, створивши документальний фільм про себе, разом з іншими учасни:цями та під керівництвом досвідченої режисерки Інги Пилипчук.
